  • Question about discoverygarden Islandora 8 and Fedora 3 - how does it fit with the Foundation?

  • discoverygarden needed the move to Drupal 8 from clients regardless of the state of CLAW

  • discoverygarden supports CLAW through its contributions to the Islandora foundation, but does not contribute developer time at the moment

  • Will will request more information from the discoverygarden team about their opinions on CLAW design and implementation

  • Interest in broadening or articulation of Islandora Foundation goals: https://islandora.ca/if/goals. Bring all suggestions to the Board.

  • David Keiser-Clark is interested in forming a working group to review goals and hopes to solicit volunteers. Will run by Islandora Consortium Group ICG.

Isle Update

Interest Group Reports

  • DevOps - Met yesterday, will try to get more people to attend and reach out to the community to get feedback on the group
  • Metadata - Met a couple weeks ago, discussion about moving metadata into linked data models, how to pre-index, read an rdf graph to get some sense of metadata. Mint URIS separate objects for everything based on CLAW call discussion, transitional thing hold data in house, identify and figure out what already exists out there then to link to it. Make separate objects instead of using strings to ease that whole process. Possibly more add ons and things in the stack, such as Apache Stanbol entityhub letting you cache the things you link out to, if the website is down you can still search sort and site still functions. Shifting roles in co-convenors. Next meeting this coming Monday
  • IR - Next meeting Nov. 30. Last meeting looking at easyIDs handles etc.
  • Security - Meeting postponed to next week.

CLAW

  • Currently in mid-sprint, push on the installation front
  • Ansible installer - Nat on feature parity with vagrant, Jon Green with multi-server setups with Jared, Adam Soroka, Library in Serbia working on support
  • Nat voted in as a new CLAW committer
  • Scripts to build first dockerized, a lot of back and forth and decisions still so not yet at the point to approach ISLE. Ultimately there will be coordination and communication between CLAW and ISLE
