Installation

Depending on your browser, you will be able to install the extension from one of these stores. Many different browsers are Chromium based, so you can freely visit Chrome Web Store to install the extension.

Usage

After installation, it's highly recommended to pin the extension and then completely close your browser and reopen it. Otherwise, you'll have to reload all of the active tabs, where you plan to use the extension for the first time. That's because all previous tab sessions, do not get access to newly installed extensions.

Click on the UltraWideo icon and the popup interface will appear.

Popup

Extension comes with predefined settings and shortcut keys.

Option Default
Activity On
Mode Upscale
Scale X 1
Scale Y 1

View Keyboard Shortcuts.

Aside of keyboard shortcuts, you can also cycle through modes back and forth with two fingers. It supports touch screens, multi-gesture trackpads, mouse wheel.

On touch screens and multi-gesture trackpads, pinch inwards to cycle forwards and pinch outwards to cycle backwards. Using a mouse to achieve the same is possible by holding Ctrl key and pushing the wheel forwards or backwards.

In order for extension to take effect, you have to go to an video streaming website or a website that has a video embedded onto the page. Let's use an YouTube video as a reference, for demonstration: Kevin James - Short Film

Once you open it, click on "Fullscreen" button in the video player. You should immediately see the video upscaled (no black bars on any sides). Try using the shortcut to toggle mode. You should see the video affected and also a tiny banner showing in the center that notifies you about the current mode that is applied.
