Releases: ygoe/Frontfire2
Version 2.0.0
Version 2.0.0 RC 2
Still in the RC phase, a few enhancements needed to be made. The documentation has also been updated and extended in some parts.
Version 2.0.0 RC 1
It's done! Version 2.0.0 is here, currently as a release candidate! All done, all improved.
Version 2 is a complete rework of the jQuery-based first version of Frontfire that started back in 2018. This was a massive undertaking over the past two years. Every single line of code has been reviewed and a whole lot of improvements went into Frontfire in the process. The documentation has been completely rewritten and extended, with samples and source view for all features.
Originally a third beta release was planned, but the remaining tasks were so few that I just completed the thing in one step. Enjoy this new version, it's feature-complete for 2.0.0 and will be re-released as 2.0.0 if no issues are found.
When upgrading from the old Frontfire, please review all breaking changes from the change log page in the documentation. From now on, things should remain quite stable for a while.
New features are already planned for the next version 2.1.
Version 2.0.0 beta 2
As promised, this is the second beta release with a few more plugins ported over from v1.
New plugins: Accordion, ColorPicker/ColorInput, TimePicker
All changes are mentioned in the change log in the documentation which was also improved in many places. The current plan is to finish the remaining work for a 2.0.0 release. Until then, Frontfire 2 will replace the old version in more of my websites and web apps to give it additional testing.
Version 2.0.0 beta 1
This is the first public release of the all-new Frontfire 2! 🎉
The work on this version began early 2021, with an increasing pace in the past few weeks. It is a fresh take on the jQuery-based and IE-compatible Frontfire project that started around 2018, removing the technical debt that has accumulated since then. There is now also a comprehensive documentation with live examples.
More plugins of Frontfire 1 are ported over and some already-ported ones are still added to the documentation as we approach the stable release in a series of upcoming beta releases.
This is a beta release which means that later releases are not guaranteed to be free of breaking changes. All changes to the public API are listed in the documentation. This toolkit is already in production use in some of my projects, more will be added as required features are completed. This means that it has already seen a bit of exposure and should be quite robust.
