Far Future Technologies makes use of several different resources. Some may be familiar from other mods, but others are unique to FFT.

Enriched Uranium

Enriched Uranium is used directly as a propellant by the X-6 'Clarke' Fission Fragment Rocket Engine. It is also used to produce Fission Particle, Fission Pellets, or Nuclear Salt Water at the nuclear smelter.

This resource also appears in Near Future Electrical, where it's used as fuel for fission reactors. NFE also provides options for transporting, handling, and manufacturing enriched uranium.

Fission Particles

Dispersed fissile dust. Fission Particles are used as a propellant in the X-7 'Asimov' Afterburning Fission Fragment Rocket Engine. They are stored in Fissionables Tanks. They may be produced from Enriched Uranium at the nuclear smelter.

Fission Pellets

Tiny, well-machined charges of nuclear fuel used in nuclear pulse engine systems. Fission Pellets are used as a propellant in two engines:

  • X-20 'Verne' Pulsed Fission Engine
  • A-134NG 'Casaba' Antimatter Catalyzed Microfission Engine

They are stored in the PW x4 Nuclear Pellet Storage Container. They may be produced from Enriched Uranium at the nuclear smelter, or be used to produce Antimatter at the antimatter factory.

Lithium

Lithium is used as a propellant in the JP-10 'Impulse' Magneto-Inertial Fusion Engine.

This resource also appears in Near Future Propulsion, where it is a propellant for magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters. NFP also provides options for storing and manufacturing lithium.

Liquid Deuterium

A cryogenic resource used during fusion. Used as a propellant in several engines, and as a fuel in fusion reactors. Stored in Fusion Fuel Tanks. May be harvested using FFT's atmospheric or exospheric scoops.

Liquid Helium-3

A cryogenic resource used during high-efficiency fusion. Used as a propellant in several engines, and as a fuel in fusion reactors. Stored in Fusion Fuel Tanks. Very expensive. May be harvested using FFT's regolith, atmospheric, or exospheric scoops.

Liquid Hydrogen

A cryogenic resource. Used as a propellant for several engines, typically for afterburner modes.

This resource also appears in CryoTanks, a dependency which provides options for storing and producing liquid hydrogen. It's also used as fuel for chemical rockets in Cryogenic Engines, and as a propellant for nuclear thermal rockets in Kerbal Atomics.

Nuclear Salt Water

Water that contains salts of enriched uranium. Used as a propellant in the X-2 'Heinlein' Nuclear Salt Water Rocket Engine. It is stored in Fissionables Tanks. May be manufactured from Enriched Uranium at the nuclear smelter.

Antimatter

A novel resource that costs science instead of funds and requires constant power to store safely. Used as a propellant in three engines:

  • A-134NG 'Casaba' Antimatter Catalyzed Microfission Engine
  • A-7007 'Dirac' Antimatter Initiated Microfusion Engine
  • A-834M 'Frisbee' Antimatter Engine

Antimatter is stored in dedicated containers. It may be produced at the antimatter factory from Liquid Hydrogen or Fission Pellets.
