Get the project working with a basic production process, including:

• Assemble and organize dependencies (e.g. XML parser, XSLT, FO, PDF output).

• Validate XML.

• Check XML against targeted DocBook schema.

• Produce HTML.

• Produce PDF.

• Produce bibliography and format citations.

• Preferably: Incorporate PDF appendices (included works) in a reasonable fashion.

The PDF processing may require some hand-massage at this point (e.g. combining multiple PDFs and integrating bookmarks) and that is acceptable, but should be kept to the minimum.

Use Cases

• Make or incorporate changes, validate, and rebuild.

• Checkout copy of Handbook, use build automation to produce PDF and post new PDF to Scribd.

• This may require the user to obtain/install/configure dependencies, but process shall be documented and automation will be used where possible.
