Reactive Bird is an asynchronous, actor-based and fast Scala library for accessing the Twitter REST API v1.1. It is built on top of Spray 1.3.1 and Akka 2.3.0
ReactiveBird for Scala 2.10.3 is available on Sonatype.

WARNING: Reactive Bird 1.2 has been reasonably tested but is not ready for production yet. This library is however actively maintained and issues will be treated rapidly.

ReactiveBird implements most of the endpoints defined in the Twitter API documentation. In most cases, the name of the method is simply the full path to the resource.
When working with timelines or large lists of items, you will need to paginate through the result set. The Paging
trait
uses scala reactive streams (async Iterable) under the hood to iterate through result sets. It takes an instance of a pageable Page => AbstractResultSet[A]
as argument. Both pagination with maxId (MaxIdPage => ResultSet[A]
) and pagination with cursors (CursorPage => CursoredResultSet[A]
) are supported.

May the rate limit be hit in the process, the pagination will stop and return all the items that were successfully retrieved
It is possible to provide your own models for User, Status, Place, etc. Just override the desired fields from the ModelFactory
