Does the child decide when to make a break? #222
As far as I know child can choose a break in any moment between executing tasks. It's available from the tasks list. The break is another task that is some kind of reward for the achieved goal but it is performed the same way as task -> with instruction. In the new version there will be a set of break tasks that are available to be chosen by the child if only he/she is starting a break. For each plan breaks are assigned. The number of break tasks can be bigger then number available to choose. The subset should be random - to avoid the same breaks showing up all the time. The size of the subset is defined by therapist based on the advanced level. Children have sometimes problem with deciding and they should have too much to choose.
Are the components in pause activity different than in a normal activity? #221
Pause tasks have same properties, like times, sound, picture etc. but they are marked as a break task and can be performed only in situation if the child choose break action. They can have steps also, but it's not required. There is set of break tasks per one plan that are randomly chosen for the child, when the pause is started. The newer version will provide function that depending on configuration the will be subset of tasks to choose.
Time duration configuration #218
The duration is a time in which the task should be executed. It can be configured for each task or step. The therapists do not configure it for every child, it is based on the training level and purpose. The duration is started counting down when the child choose task and when the time is finished the alarm clock start ringing.
When child app display the changes made by therapist in the configuration? #217
Child apps should not allow user for any configuration. The problem that the child is changing, removing plans etc. during working with tablet was mentioned couple of time by the therapists and it is a problem for them when during the training the plan has messed up. It was even told that the app should know be abled to get closed if the plan was not completed to avoid situations when the friendly app plan is switched to some games ;) But I am not sure how to implement that.
At the moment changes are made at the same as button save is clicked, so when the admin finished configuring it. But it's a good question to be confirmed if we want to configure plans for the future schedule or not. It's not clearly solved for the moment. In my opinion it would be useful to create a set of different plans that are going to be used next week for example. I also guess that child has different plan at home and school so it should be easily to manage. However from the info from IWRD, the plan does not change too often, only requires some modification, so one week has mostly the same as next week but there are still some little corrections, that are made during the work week.
Has every therapist his/her own tablet? Maybe we need more profiles/accounts for different therapists? #216
At the beginning there was an assumption that one child has one tablet. That he or she works on at school and at home. And that's the best approach to work with the app in my opinion. In most cases tablet is prepared for one child only, but sometimes there are situation that one tablet is used by more then one child, for example when there are siblings. The answer is based on IWRD experience but in my opinion there is more research required in this area to check how it would work in other places. As far as I know the child does not always work with one therapist.
In my opinion there should different profiles available on one tablet, when I think about the further design, but it should be also one default set (that was confirmed with IWRD), in the situation that only one child is using the tablet for his/her own to not require to choose who is the user every time the work with app is started. For the child user profile should be invisible ( to not disturb ), configured by therapist or parent in separated app.
