if you stumble along this, make sure to get the regular jar file and not the sources jar.

You'd only need to replace the file on your server. No need to replace it on your client.

Edit: The issue was fixed with BloomhouseMC@0160a86 so all you need to do is update Besmirchment. As of writing the newest release is https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/besmirchment-2/files/5213810
