Resource Model

The Resource Modeler allows the modeling of resources which are an extension of fCM made to enable a more detailed planning support for construction processes. Resources are instances of roles that are modeled in the Role Modeler. The list of available resources is modeled as an UML object diagram where each resource is an object with a Name and the attributes Capacity (amount of available workers), Roles (which are consistent with the Role Model), Availability Start and Availability End (to describe the timespan in which the resource is available to work).

Each Resource must have a positive capacity and hold at least one role (multiple roles are possible). Resources must not specify the availability, thus being always available. When defining an availability, the start time and end time must be set (closed interval). The end availability must be greater or equal to the non negative start availability. The underlying time unit is not specified but abstract and relative to the starting point of plan generation.
