- We no longer have a free level of service. All users must become members to use the site. One exception being the "popular" page which remains public. Post permalink pages are also publicly accessible.
- Upon signing in, you will be required to select a membership plan: "Single Scoop" or "Double Scoop" are your options and what is included with each is explained on that page. You must use a fake credit card number:
4242 4242 4242 4242
and any future expiration date and CVC value will work. After "paying" for the membership, you will be given a link to use to restore your content. - If you've been using the beta site, as of April 30th, your new.mltshp.com content has been tucked away. You'll have to sign in a restore it just as you will for your MLKSHK content once we re-launch.
- Restoring in the context of the "new.mltshp.com" site will only restore your new.mltshp.com content. Your MLKSHK content will be restored when you do this on the new re-launched site running at "mltshp.com".
- If you choose NOT to restore, you'll be able to use the site and post to your personal shake and make additional shakes (if you used the "Double Scoop" plan). Restoring your content later will not affect any new content you made prior to restoring.
- Before restoring anything, your MLTSHP experience might look rather empty, depending on who else has restored their content or not already. The Popular and Incoming pages may have content they have restored; more will appear as more content is restored.
- After restoring, you should see all of your personal shake content plus content you have posted to any groups you created. Shakes you belong to, but are owned by other people will not be restored until their owners restore their content. Once they do, any posts you made to those shakes should be visible again.
- Your follower/following list will only contain members who have restored their accounts.
- The "Single Scoop" experience is very similar to the feature set of the "free" account level on MLKSHK.com.
- The "Double Scoop" experience is very similar to the feature set of a paid account level on MLKSHK.com.
- You may visit the Membership page (get to it via the "settings" link) to change your membership level at any time. (Once we launch, you will be able to do this as well-- Stripe handles the accounting with respect to billing and prorating service.)
- You can cancel your membership via the settings page. Note that canceling your membership does not immediately remove your level of service. You will continue to be able to use the plan you had paid for up until it expires. Canceling simply prevents auto-renewal now. Once your membership is over a year later, you would drop to a free level of service (which means you won't be able to access anything but the Popular and Membership pages).
If you see anything contrary to the expectations outlined above, it is probably a bug. DO NOT PANIC. We've done some spot-testing of this, but probably have not caught all the bugs! Just report them to our issue tracker on Github: https://github.com/MLTSHP/mltshp/issues. You can also chat about any of this in the #beta-testers channel for our Slack team.
Thanks for beta testing! We're almost there!
