I know doing this in a random logging PR is bad practice but I have limited time in the day, y'know.

Various improvements throughout the code to improve logging, declutter logs and provide more accurate levels for certain log events.
Also upgrades the Python version to 3.12.3. I know it's a bit horrific to do that in this random PR but it should be fine. I don't have time to do it in a cleaner way.
