KDE Connect allows devices to securely share content like notifications or files and other features like SMS messaging and remote control. The KDE Connect team has applications for Linux, BSD, Android, Sailfish, macOS, and Windows.
GSConnect is a complete implementation of KDE Connect, especially for GNOME Shell with Nautilus, Chrome, and Firefox integration. It does not rely on the KDE Connect desktop application and will not work with it installed.
GSConnect is now under the GitHub organization GSConnect.
Please note, this project has migrated from a developer-driven model to a community-driven model. This means that GSConnect does not have dedicated developers working on new features or bug fixes. Instead, the project relies on contributions from its users and distributions that choose to package it.
This does not mean the project is unmaintained, but that the maintainers are only here to help triage bug reports, review contributions, and release new versions when they have time available. If you are packaging or considering packaging GSConnect for distribution, you should take this into consideration.
If you would like to take a more active role in the development and maintenance of GSConnect, you can start by triaging new issues, fixing confirmed issues, and reviewing contributions. If you need additional permissions for a particular task, you may request them from one of the current maintainers.
New users may want to follow the Installation Instructions in the Wiki. There are browser extensions available for both Chrome/Chromium and Firefox:
KDE Connect develops the apps for Android, iOS, and Sailfish (OpenRepos.net).
Please see the Help page before opening a New Issue. There is also a IRC/Matrix channel available:
KDE Connect has a tracker where you can report bugs in the Android app at bugs.kde.org.
