Currently, the volume button in the software functions as a simple mute/unmute toggle. I would like to propose an enhancement that introduces a volume slider, which appears when the cursor hovers over the volume button. This feature would allow users to adjust the volume more precisely, similar to the functionality seen in YouTube.
Description
Current Behavior: The volume button only mutes or unmutes the audio.
Proposed Enhancement: When the user hovers over the volume button, a vertical volume slider should be displayed. Users can then adjust the audio level without needing to navigate away from the main interface. Clicking the volume button would still retain its current functionality of muting/unmuting.
Benefits
Improved User Experience: Users can easily control the volume without additional clicks.
Increased Accessibility: A slider allows for fine-tuning of audio levels, catering to different user needs.
Example
I have attached an image of the current volume button and a GIF demonstrating how I envision the new functionality.
