Gem can’t find dll

On windows I could not find a location for the dll which the gem would find. The only thing that works is to specify the full path with AUBIO_LIB. In sonic pi we previously hacked the gem to load in the same folder as aubio.rb inside the gem. Any chance the gem could search here (unless there is a better place in the tree)?
This is the last piece we need to get to a Sonic Pi nightly.... thanks!

We found that we could get this to work if you put the dll in ruby/bin. Which is actually OK for us....
