Not working on screen lock

Hello everyone,
I tried this plugin and everything is working fine except that the alarm doesn't work when phone is locked.
I want the alarm at utmost priority.
Any help is appreciated.

Maybe a workaround is to use de.appplant.cordova.plugin.background-mode.

I also installed this plugin working fine but not firing alarm or waking the phone. it works only when the screen is on.
Any ideas this could be extremely useful.
Please @fafaman could you elaborate more on suggesting the use of de.appplant.cordova.plugin.background-mode because I've been using it for a while is a great plugin but still the problem when the app is closed will not work.
Another thing if someone could help me with this ...I am not a java expert I would like someone to suggest to add an alert box when the time is up for the alarm.

Any update on this issue?

Me too facing the same problem. But the app opens in the background. I can see it once I unlock the phone.
