When creating a new release, the latest version is used as the placeholder for the form input. This is non-obvious that this isn't just an example, or a pre-filled value, and also should be avoided UX-wise as the useful information is lost as soon as something is typed into the field. Instead, explicit text should be present on the page (perhaps as text just below the field) indicating the current release version.
