I would like to request a network interface toggle. I know I can set a toggle with a block all rule on the interface, but the current streams do not get disconnected. When you disable the IF the current streams are immediately cut off.

Hi, I second this request. My use case is the following:
I have two OPNsense with CARP on a single public WAN IP. When the backup takes over it's all fine (the primary is offline) but as soon as the primary goes back online it takes over all the IPs but the WAN. I'd like to have the option to release the WAN on the backup once HomeAssistant detects the primary is back online.
I could force a reboot on the backup to achieve this but the ability to control the interfaces would be much more elegant.

Feature request: Interface switch
[FR]: Interface switch
Sep 7, 2024
It would be very great, when a switch for interfaces would be available.
I like to toggle the VLAN interface for the kids devices on/off conveniently from with Home Assistant.
@mzurhorst: you can do this by en-/disabling a manual outbound NAT rule. This way e.g. wifi connections will work, DHCP will work but phone devices show "no internet".
