My bash version:
GNU bash, version 5.1.16(1)-release (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu)
My make version:
GNU Make 4.3
And when I typing the code block below in the make file and run. The override doesn't work. It just output 'echo did_override'.
# Overrides command line arguments override option_one = did_override # Does not override command line arguments option_two = not_override all: echo $(option_one) echo $(option_two)
I think it would be better:
override option_one += did_override
Thus, one can see the variable did be overrided with the output 'echo hi did_override', when you run make with make option_one=hi.
