Does this support SQL query generation?

Is this only GraphQL gateway? Will this support SQL query generation like Hasura and Postgraphile (what does the No Code means here)?

Hey @kaushalyap At the moment we only support HTTP on the upstream. We are adding support for GRPC via #551. We plan to extend support for SQL for other DataSources such as SQL very soon! I would love to understand your use case though. Why would you like to expose SQL directly via GraphQL? Typically we have seen that your business logic should remain in your upstream services, and GraphQL should only be used an alternative protocol to expose data.

With what I am suggesting business logic is written in SQL. Please check Postgraphile, Hasura, Supabase which is backed by PostgREST for more info.

This approach

• Dramatically reduce code needed to be written
• Better performance by default since do not have to fetch data to back-end server, can do the calculations on DB itself
• Can centralize security auditing by using features like Postgres RLS.

@kaushalyap Tailcall can support any REST API. PostgREST exposes REST APIs, so for tailcall to connect to a Postgres DB shouldn't be a problem at all. However the experience currently would be to write the configuration by hand. What we could do is auto-generate a configuration at runtime that would reduce the effort quite significantly. Would that be of interest to you?
