Ro Sharp's Dotfiles

Desktop ORUI in Firefox Emacs Filefox

Software

The programs I curently use:

Status Bar

If you are tired of the default i3-bar, bumblebee-status is a great native-like alternative.

Firefox Extensions

The less extensions are installed, the better. However, I cannot help but use vim-keys and I don't like ads.

Musts are:

  1. uBlock
  2. Dark Reader
  3. Tridactyl

userChrome

Custom theme on the screenshots is firefox-i3wm-theme.

Again, it's better to not use any custom theme for the security and performance reasons as most themes require to tweak some browser settings. However, this theme almost doesn't.

Emacs Plugins

My essentials are (aside from default Doom plugins):

  1. org-roam for managing notes and journaling
  2. org-bullets for nice org headers
  3. org-pomodoro for using pomodoro technique
  4. forge + github-review for Git
  5. elfeed as an RSS-feeds reader
  6. calibredb for keeping books and articles

OS

Debian Stable is indeed stable. It may lack some of the newest features (e.g. PipeWire + Wireplumber), but most things are easy to set up since we have apt.
