Admittedly, I'm a beginner with noteless, but I've installed and tried out a few handfuls of notepad and writing apps over the past few weeks. So I don't know any fear of contact there. In the beginning, I always go into the prefs and see what the app has to offer.
It's the same with noteless. I then find Dendron, don't see anything that sounds daunting ("Dendron is a VSCode-based note taking tool"), turn it on curiously, don't find anything in the docs about it, and forget about it at some point.
But reading the documentation, I stumble upon several oddities that really shouldn't be in an app's own documentation:
Graphics have the "broken" icon
Some links don't work (I think they were internal links)
When I create a file, I see that the filename is Untitled.md, while all of yours have wonderful neat names
Inside the app there is no possibility to rename files
When I create another file, suddenly the first one I created is gone (no wonder, the new one is also called Untitled.md!)
At that point my mind was made up that I wanted to delete noteless with a fury. I found however still with much luck - on the search for the problem of persistent categories - Dendron mentioned in another issue here:
Woohoo! The right pointer at the right time! So I deactivated Dendron and reinstalled the documentation. And everything was cured again. But: My files, which were created with Dendron before and renamed manually with a file manager, were gone!
No problem, I can fix that by hand, but I thought you should know all this.
Thanks a lot for noteless, BTW, which now ranks quite high again among the note apps I’m testing.
