Ubikom: decentralized encrypted email #262
-
Hi all, Full disclaimer first: I'm one of the co-founders of Ubikom, so my opinion is a) informed; b) biased toward it. Ubikom is a decentralized identity registry and email is its first application. These identities are avatars and are chosen by users. All emails within the ubikom system are encrypted by default (with elliptic curve algorithm). It is fully compatible with legacy email services, but obviously, we need to decrypt emails before sending them outside of the perimeter. User names are recorded on a blockchain and thus cannot be banned, deleted, or blocked. Emails are end-to-end encrypted and no one can snoop on users. Ubikom email works with standard mail clients such as iOS, Thunderbird, and BlueMail: you don't need to download and install yet another app. Email can also be accessed through a browser. Ubikom is a work in progress as we are adding features, but it is up and running and being actively used. It protects our privacy and security of communication, is free to sign up, and a few thousand avatars have already registered. You can get more information and get a name here: www.ubikom.cc. The code is here: github.com/regnull/ubikom Hope it may be of interest to this community |
