How about SearxNG instead of Searx? #256
-
Quick background: SearXNG is a fork of Searx with many usability fixes. As @unixfox (member of both Searx & SearxNG orgs) said, it seems like Searx went into maintenance mode. While it will still work, it is unlikely to get new feature updates. Less frequent updates mean longer engine breakage. Another thing to note is that SearXNG has implemented a security policy, whereas Searx has not. How about we recommend SearxNG instead of Searx? |

I'd like to see this change. It's worth noting that the site already has a precedent for suggesting forks which can be considered objectively better. Example being the KeePassXC recommendation; it was forked from KeePassX to solve slow development progress, similar to what SearXNG is doing. |
