For redundancy it is wise to export passwords in encrypted format out of Bitwarden.

Should you ever be locked out of your account for whatever reason (downtime, legal etc) you will have some backup.

What's the benefit to our audience here? I don't want to recreate our recommendations' documentation on the site.

To have a backup in case you get lock out of your account, bitwarden stops offering service, they get censored those kind of more extreme scenario's. But also if they would be down for a day due to a major outage. If you rely on it it would be pretty bad.
