We are seeking reviewers with expertise in all aspects of cloud computing to provide independent review of our report, The Cloud and the Climate. This report aims to give a snapshot of the current state of the art of the environmental sustainability of cloud computing, with an emphasis on AWS/Azure/GCP. We are looking for experts to review it for clarity, accuracy, completeness, and up-to-dateness, and to recommend improvements.
Reviewers will receive an honorarium of £300. We anticipate a thorough review might take 3-4 hours in total, which can be completed at any time during July or August. Reviewers whose suggestions are included in the final report can be listed as co-authors if preferred.
Specific expertise in GreenOps, FinOps / MLOps, green computing, energy transition, tech policy, climate policy, and/or Responsible AI would be a bonus but are not essential. If you're interested, please send a CV and/or other relevant details to [email protected].
If you're interested but not completely sure if you qualify, go ahead and query -- we're interested in getting lots of different perspectives! The Cloud and the Climate will be published by the Digital Humanities Climate Coalition and the Sussex Digital Humanities Lab.
