After manually resolving one of our profiles, i think the following approach would be great:

  • Decide on a very small set of required properties.
  • Mark all properties that are needed for compatibility with the base profiles as recommended. We can now add in our description that for compatibility, all recommended properties are required
  • Mark all the rest as optional.

@caroott this is what we talked about today. Additional related work items would be #5 #6 #7 #8 , Many of which i have started working on in #13 , you can either decide to resume on that branch, or start from scratch
