Name shapes #34
Comments
I would like to work on this issue. |
You are very welcome. I think it only makes sense to implement this with a tree structure on the left. Just ask me, if I can support with anything. |
Along with the tree, was thinking a label would be viewable/editable on
canvas while the a shape/group is selected. Tree would be great for
organizing layers, as well.

I have never seen it somewhere else. What would be the benefit? |
Up to the user how they want to utilize, but its a useful feature in my eye. Adobe, Sketch, Figma do it, not that their usage validates unnecessary features, but I've used it in the past for keeping track of what I'm doing and with what. Different actions, states, or just styling can be kept track of, allowing the user to dictate their own workflow. |
I have used it a lot with a sidebar, but not without. But I am open for that... |
It should be possible to name shapes, especially groups.
