In terms of workflow, after a user registers a new account, a confirmation email is sent. The user account is marked as “unconfirmed” until the user confirms the account via the token in the email.

Unconfirmed users can log in but they are immediately redirected to a page reminding them that they need to confirm their account before they can access the application.
