Browsers reporting "Virus detected" and blocking download of Pylance Extension

I'm trying to install the VSCode Pylance Extension from a .vsix file, but I cannot download it from its official page. I am able to download .vsix files for other extensions, such as Jupyter Extension and Python Extension, so the problem does not seem to be general to .vsix extensions.

This behavior was observed with the Edge, Duck-Duck-Go, and Chrome browsers. Moreover, Windows Security reports a threat in the attempted Chrome download.

Attempting to install it directly from the Extension tool in VSCode gets stuck at the "Installing" step, with no further progress.

Hi,
I am getting the same behavior with Edge for several weeks and versions now.
This happend at lease since Pylance Version 2024.11.100, also with the latest Version 2024.12.100. I don't want to test every version, since I don't want to annoy my organization's IT team.

Uploading the identical .vsix files to virustotal.com shows everything as clean.

Please investigate this issue. Thank you!
