This happens once during the lifetime of genaiscript and ensures the model is available. We could also try our luck, fail and download the model as an alternate strategy. |

Qwen RESEARCH LICENSE AGREEMENT Release Date: September 19, 2024 I'm using Open Interpreter in VSCode. I've tried to use the exact script from the documentation and still receive the "run ... : completed with 0" message. I've also tried to run the script with different models, but the issue persists. I've checked the log files and they don't seem to provide any useful information. I've tried reinstalling both Open Interpreter and GenAIScript, but the problem remains. Furthermore, I've tried running the script in a separate terminal and in a new VSCode window, but the issue persists. I'm not sure what else to try. I'm hoping that someone here might have encountered a similar issue and can provide some guidance. Here is the script I'm trying to run: Operating System: Win 11 Actions TakenInstalled GenAIScript using the command: $ npm install -g genaiscript

If i run using the vscode extension i get the output but the terminal shows the 500 error. Output: run b5a9bb16a4e8: starting test
genaiscript: test
ollama: pull Baby.Coder:latest
genaiscript: success
run b5a9bb16a4e8: completed with 0 with no output poem. 3. Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Based on Documentation: Now, refering to the GenAIScript documentation and the Ollama documentation:
I set an .env file (and .gitignore) OLLAMA_HOST=http://127.0.0.1:11434
GENAISCRIPT_MODEL_LARGE="ollama:Baby-Coder:latest"
GENAISCRIPT_MODEL_SMALL="ollama:Baby-Coder:latest"
GENAISCRIPT_MODEL_VISION="ollama:Baby-Coder:latest" and run simply: $`Write a short poem in code.` but same result, no poem output. And the error on the terminal is always the same. Try this: {
"envFile": "./.env",
"model": "ollama:Baby-Coder:latest"
} but same result. |

Dear GenAiScript Team,
I'm writing to you as a very enthusiastic user of your project. I'm incredibly excited about the potential of GenAiScript to streamline interactions with large language models, and I'm particularly interested in using it with local models managed by Ollama. The idea of a scripting language specifically designed for generative AI is fantastic, and I see tremendous value in this tool.
However, I've run into some significant roadblocks while trying to configure GenAiScript to work with my local Oll models models. I've spent considerable time troubleshooting, and I've identified what appears to be a bug in how GenAiScript handles the
model
property within thescript()
function, especially in conjunction with system prompts and environment variables.Here's a summary of the issues I've encountered:
model
property is ignored: When a system prompt is enabled (either explicitly with asystem: [...]
array, or implicitly when it falls back to the defaults), themodel
setting insidescript({ model: "ollama:..." })
is not respected. GenAiScript defaults to a different model provider (eitheropenai
ormistral
) instead, even if theollama
provider has been specified.vars
property has no effect: When trying to set theGENAISCRIPT_MODEL_LARGE
,GENAISCRIPT_MODEL_SMALL
orGENAISCRIPT_MODEL_VISION
settings using thevars
property of thescript()
function, GenAiScript ignores those variables as well. Thevars
setting is not being correctly applied, and this will cause unexpected behavior.large
,small
andvision
model to use with the system.openai
ormistral
models by default, even if anollama
model is explicitly provided with themodel
setting in thescript()
method.ollama pull
always happens: Theollama pull <model>
call is always executed, even if the model is already downloaded. This might be unrelated to the main issue.I have tried all methods available in the documentation (setting
model
directly, using aliases, using environment variables, using explicit and implicit system prompts,console.log
for debugging, etc), and I have also tried with all configuration options, including setting an empty system prompt arraysystem: [
. Unfortunately, none of them have been able to solve the issue.I understand that software development is complex and that bugs can happen. I've attached a detailed trace of one of my attempts, which clearly shows that the correct model is not being used. I am happy to provide more information if needed.
I am eager to see GenAiScript working smoothly with local models, and I truly believe this is an amazing project that is going to be extremely useful. Thank you for all your work and dedication, and I hope you can fix this issue soon. I look forward to using this tool in the future!
Sincerely,
TheWW
