Latest Sophisticated Core mod require JEI 15.19.5.99 or above.
JEI latest release is 15.12.2.51 (August 14th), everything beyond is BETA, thus not updated automatically using mod manager.

Also having this issue
(*Update) Nevermind, just changed the version on JEI and it works fine. Wasn't displaying until I opened the config file, but seems good to go now (probably because I had my window shrunk as well)

@Preciel if you're using CurseForge, go to JEI's page, find the versions tab, and install the required version. Then you can launch and it should be fine
