Well.. it seems like attribution comes from a manifest.json so I don't think this is really feasible.

Attribution can come from either the image's info.json (in 2.1+) or from a manifest (in 2.0+).
Note in the descriptions that clients MUST display attributions when present... so it would be great to keep this enhancement on the table, or understand the difficulties in implementation so we can fix it in the spec :)
