When opening a link in a new tab, is there a way to automatically create a group and put the current tab as well into said group?

Hello,

I know there is a way to do this, but the current tab is the parent of a subtree. But I'd prefer if a new group was created instead and and the current tab was inside of the group. This would be a much better organizational flow for me and I was wondering if there was an option that I may have overlooked, or if there is a way to write scripts to modify the functionality of the extension.
