Seeing this issue with the latest OPNSense release and their vendor package. It is 1.96.04. It seems to leave the interface in an unusable state.
It shows itself most prevalently when any IDS/IPS solution is enabled but I'm not entirely convinced it is only Suricata or Sensei causing the interface to crap out.
Tracked it down to a register being written to reset the device. It then checks that the register has successfully written the value, if not the message is printed. I am not sure why the device is being reset, or why it is unable to write to that register.
I'm not a driver developer so I am unclear why this is happening.
