I am trying to create a taxonomical tree, and ideally was hoping to be able to get shapes representing the same taxonomical levels at the same height. Unfortunately, after spending several hours trying to dig through the blog, any resources I could find on the website, and several attempts at trial and error I came up with absolutely nothing.
Currently, the automatic layout puts the taxons like this
While the intention would be to have them look like this
Why the automatic layout chooses the former is completely understandable, but I was wondering if there's any potential way to force these elements to be on the same level? I attempted adding tags to them, but the issue is I'm not sure if tags help me in any form. I do not see a way to use tags to my advantage here.
Grouping doesn't appear to be working - the shapes stay grouped, but their positions change, so there is no effect. Locking the shapes instead prevents them from being moved at all, which is also not what I want.
The only theoretically possible solution I came across was swimlanes, but those brought another separate set of issues when I attempted to use them for this...
