This is just a "state of how things are" report with some improvement ideas/suggestions. I don't know if anyone will find this helpful in any way but I'm putting it out there anyway.
Everything was tested on a Pinephone running Manjaro with Plasma Mobile.
I was very pleasantly surprised that after installing, JMP works pretty well on a small screen. There are minor problems with scaling some of the interface's elements (see the Android comparison screenshots below). Right now it behaves just like if you'd scale you browser window down, which is actually still pretty usable.
I don't know how exactly the web interface scaling works, but I'd guess that it chooses the right scaling options based on the user agent. So if JMP could detect that it's running on a mobile device (I guess that would be the trickier part) it could change its UA according to that.
One other quality of life improvement would be MPRIS support (#3), so that playback could be controlled with the system's media controls.
I also had to replace the currently broken ffmpeg-pp package with regular ffmpeg, thus losing hardware decoding but preventing MPV from segfaulting on startup (but that's a problem specific to the Pinephone).
