Advanced Internet Sharing Issues

So, I've got kind of a unique issue that google searches and Q&A searches have been unable to help with.

I've got my pwnagotchi setup as an RNDIS ethernet adapter, the network is being shared from my main PC (Win11) and all was configured by meticulously following Step 2
I am able to SSH into the device, I have been able to run the setup wizard, and I can do anything locally inside the gotchi that I need. The issue is, if I attempt to make any kind of requests involving telemetry (such as github download requests or even pinging google.com) I get a "hostname cannot be resolved" error. I've reimaged my device a couple of times, wiped and restarted Step 2 ensuring I was doing everything correctly, and tried other data cables (I know that last one doesn't do much, but I'm trying everything I know to do here) but the issue persists. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how was it resolved?

Re flashing doesn't help either. You have made an error somewhere as it should work.

Nope, no user error here. I found the set of steps that provided the solution by tinkering around, but I couldn't tell you why they work.

1: Disable network sharing from my PC's local Ethernet connection via advanced network settings (Windows 11).
2: Enable sharing from my PC's Wi-Fi connection.
3: Re-enable sharing from Ethernet, which automatically disconnects Wi-fi sharing.
4: Reboot the pwnagotchi.

Following the reboot, telemetry was working as intended. Thanks for the help.
