Feature request: -exclude with wildcards

I need to exclude huge amounts of similar folders.
Is it possible to add wildcard support for the exclude parameter?

Yes, of course it's possible.

While I'm not interested in implementing this myself, I'll happily accept a pull request for an implementation, provided it uses a different parameter name.
