Doesn't work correctly with the Kotlin Spring DSL

I have no idea why, but this works:

class AppConfig {
    @Bean
    fun baseQuery(): BaseQuery {
        return BaseQuery()
    }
}

And this doesn't:

class AppConfig(context: GenericApplicationContext) {
    init {
        beans {
            bean<BaseQuery>()
        }.initialize(context)
    }
}

When, in theory, they do the exact same thing.

Is this still a problem with latest version? I'm no Kotlin expert, and therefore not familiar with the second approach.
