I'm looking for nice enclosure that fits both DIN rail and can work stand-alone.
It needs to be modular and low cost.
And it seems I found ideal candidate. They are produced by several manufacturers, i.e. Camdenboss and OKW. Example from OKW:

They are available with DIN mounting and without it. The segments are below or just above 1 EUR.
Available widths: 11.25, 22.5, 45mm and multiples
