Recently I needed to measure the distribution of temperatures inside of the electronic enclosure.
The one-wire sensors are bulky and they would simply affect the measurements of i.e. individual ICs.
There are hover tiny 0603 or 0805 ceramic platinum sensors. They are easy to glue, have very thin wires that can be extended using thin magnet wire.
I needed readout IC. There is a very popular one from Maxim MAX31865 that seems to fit my needs perfectly. There is already Arduino support, so I decided to design a dedicated extension module for my system.
The module would support the connection of up to 4 such sensors in 2 or 4- wire configuration. it is based on the energy meter module, but with other analog front end chip.
