Can fxsound adjust the overall volume of the output (increase or decrease) without adjusting a single frequency band? I have a portable output device with no way to adjust the volume. In many cases, the volume in Windows is around 3 to 5, which is already very loud. This limits my range of adjusting the system volume and application volume.

Hi @Itoktsnhc, FxSound can help with this! To adjust the overall output volume:

  • Set the EQ preset to Default to avoid any frequency changes.
  • On the left-hand side of the app, look for the Dynamic Boost feature. This option increases the volume when FxSound is enabled, giving you better control over the output.

@brxndonnn Thanks for the reply. Maybe I didn’t make it clear above. What I want in my scenario is to globally reduce the volume of all outputs.

My system settings, if a newly installed app suddenly makes a sound, it will be very noisy.

I understand now that you're looking for a way to globally decrease the overall volume across all outputs without manually adjusting each app's volume. Unfortunately, FxSound doesn’t have a global volume control, but here are a couple of suggestions:

Use a volume limiter software:

  • Programs like Sound Lock allow you to set a maximum volume limit, ensuring that no app exceeds a certain loudness, even when a new app is installed.

Use Windows Volume Mixer more effectively:

  • If you're not already, you could try using tools like NirCmd, which can control the master volume across all apps, or EarTrumpet, which gives you more advanced control over app volumes in the taskbar.

I do have to say, your case is rare so it makes it a bit difficult, I'd recommend you watch a few youtube videos to help with your issue.
