@etiennebacher Would you like a logo for altdoc? If we have a concept, I could get someone to clean it up into a SVG file.

Here's what Chat-GPT gave me as a concept. I'm not sure I like it, but if you have some ideas I can explore.

One thought: Maybe it would be nice to not use a hex, since this is an alternative to the dominant ecosystem.

Here's a nicer concept. What do you think? Obviously would need to be cleaned-up.

I'd like a logo but I'm not a big fan of either 😅

I'm imagining something like a pile of books that form the letter "A" and the "ltDoc" written where the horizontal bar of the "A" is supposed to be. Not sure it's very clear, but designing is not my strong suit and I don't have access to paid versions of chatgpt/midjourney for now

Feel free to send many propositions, I don't have much inspiration ;)

Aaah, that's too bad. I really like the second one, actually. I guess that in general, I like minimalist logos rather than ones with lots of detail...

Honestly, I can't really visualize what you describe, and I'm a bit afraid that the text would have to be tiny and unreadable to fit under the arch of an A. But maybe it's just a failure of imagination on my part.

I like this one, also the A alone can be used as a favicon for instance. I really don't have strong opinions on this though so feel free to explore more until you find something that you like too

Quick question, are we supposed to add a note somewhere in the logo or in the readme if we use an AI to make a logo (or part of it)?

I can't find a clear answer. I think it's fine, but will insert a note at the bottom of the homepage.

I'm wondering if there's a way to have a logo that works both in light and dark mode? But that's low priority

ooof, yes, you're right. That might be outside my skillset. I'm not a web or graphics person...

The "A" is not a problem, it's mostly the other letters and the background. I know that we can make PNG with transparent background but that doesn't solve the issue with the letters

the a is also a problem because the white inside of it will be transparent too, and the black lines will fade in. I think we'd need a new version where all black and grey are converted to some lighter color and and white is converted to transparent.

I probably cannot figure this out in the short run.
