I know that this is a new project - so these ideas are far from complaints or demands! I'm just spitballing because I think this is really cool. 😁

Arc is my favourite browser. And I originally didn't want to use it due to Chromium - but their recent AI focus pushed me over the edge, so I don't use it anymore.

Arc: Surfing the web sucks, so we'll do it for you!

Me: Uhm, no - I like to surf the web. I just want a nice browser to do it with.

Arc: And also, our tools for doing it for you will make the web even worse! 😊

Me: ...

I really don't like the Firefox's state out-of-the-box. But now I'm doing a little project to see how nice I can make it - with extensions, userChrome.css and whatnot. And then seeing Mozeidon dropping is a godsend! Because the scriptability of Firefox is terrible, and I'm also a Raycast user. 🙌🏻

Here are some features that I wonder if Mozeidon can help with:

One of the features I miss from Arc, is the quick hotkey to copy the URL of the focused web page. Can Mozeidon (now, or in the future) get the current focused tab at all? I see that I, via a bunch of clicks, can get to "Copy page URL" within the Raycast extension. But I would've loved to be able to set a hotkey there (if not in the extension itself). No matter where it's set, some feedback on success would've been great. (Now I do this via the extension TabFox - but there's no feedback.)

Another feature is "Little Arc". When opening external links, instead of it opening in the main window (and gunking up the tabs there), it opens in a small separate one. And then you can hit a button to send the tab to your main window.
I've kinda recreated this in the following way (I call it Little Fox) :
I have both regular Firefox and DevEd installed, and I use OpenIn to make sure that external links are opened in DevEd, while my main browser is the regular one. Then I use the Send Page to Device feature if I want to send the tab to the main browser. Now, we've touched on the problem with different Firefox instances installed previously - but it would be neat if Mozeidon could help here. Either by using the actual Send Page to Device feature, or perhaps easier:

  • Get/copy the current URL (for me, in DevEd)
  • Close the tab
  • Create a new tab with the "copied" URL in (regular) Firefox

However, this would require some sort of support for multiple Firefox instances I guess, which we also touched on here.

Lastly, let me also give a quick feature request for being able to set Kagi as the search engine in the Raycast extension! 😇
Thanks again for making something really cool! 🫶🏻
