Sub-profiles?

What would be the best way of going about making either: a configurable profile, or a modified version of a profile, that had a subset of its rules?

My specific use case - I want to validate an provenance-run-crate containing only prospective information (i.e.: a planned workflow, but no results). This won't contain any of the items in red (at https://www.researchobject.org/workflow-run-crate/profiles/provenance_run_crate/), or any references to those items.

Does this require me writing a complete new profile, or can I either programmatically alter an existing one (the readme mentions implementing profiles in python code), or add configuration options to the existing profile (i.e.: only enforce "MUST contain an OrganizeAction" if "subprofile == 'complete')?
