Hi there

It would be very good for me, if the playlists are saved directly in the Music Library Folder using relative paths.
The Problem is, sometimes I copy my Music to an external disc going with it somewhere and play music. But I can't use the playlists because the paths are different (different Mountpoint).
Ok I can remount it, but nicer would be if the playlist would use relative paths and I could define where all the playlists should be stored.
Then I would have a fully portable collection.

I would like an option for playlist to contain relative paths and for the default be to save the playlist from the location it was opened from.

I would also like support for relative paths in Playlists. My use-case was sharing a playlist and collection of song files with a friend.

I'm not sure what you're asking for. You can already save playlists as M3U files in Clementine, and M3U playlists use relative paths.

I just tried to save an .xspf playlist in .m3u format because of this issue. The result also has absolute paths though. Is there any way to make a given playlist use relative paths other than by choosing its format?

+1, i'd love that feature too

I can't believe this has been open for over decade. It's a must have feature for me since I use relative paths for my library and export these playlists for syncing with my mobile devices. I think it would be pretty simple to implement, as we would require a checkbox and go based on the root library where the song is found. I don't see a reason an user would want both relative and absolute between playlists, but if so not sure how that would effect. This issue may relate to this issue in some way, just found it, but can not comment further.

After being bitten by this I went looking for a reason in the code - turns out there was a setting all along. This issue can probably be closed? :)

Not sure the feature was here all along but, yes, sounds fair to close the bug :-)
