Where are you expecting the title of the root_doc to appear? On the title page or in front of the body text (after the table of contents)?

Perhaps a None value (not very intuitive, though) for title in the rinoh_documents dicts could instruct rinohtype to use the title of the root document. This would be similar to an "empty" (whatever that means) title value in latex_documents?

Hi everyone,

I've just bumped into same issue. Despite i use book or article template generated document has main heading consumed. Also i cannot see that main heading formatting in stylelog file.

PDF output:

Some text
1 Sub Heading
1.1 SubSub Heading
1.1.1 SubSubSub Heading SubSubSubSub Heading
SubSubSubSubSub Heading
Some other text

RST input:

Some text

Main Heading
############

Sub Heading
***********

SubSub Heading
==============

SubSubSub Heading
-----------------

SubSubSubSub Heading
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

SubSubSubSubSub Heading
"""""""""""""""""""""""

Some other text

I'm could make a fix and a PR, however yet it's a first day i'm on rinohtype, so any guidance or hints would be nice.

Note that rinohtype follows Sphinx's LaTeX builder here, in that it ignores the master_docs's title (and subtitle), and uses the title supplied to rinoh_documents (see sphinx-doc/sphinx#3574). I agree that this is rather confusing, but this is something that should be solved at the Sphinx level.

I haven't double-checked, but I think Sphinx removes the title from the doctree passed on to the builder. At this point, I would recommend not including a title in your master_doc file.

Closing this since I consider this a Sphinx issue, but feel free to add comments.
