Allow selections in the admin to be retained across page jumps

when selecting names for combining in the admin>contributors you can't make a selection on a page and go to a selection on another page and be able to merge them, because the first selection is lost on the refresh.

Either allow for a custom number of results to be shown at once (up to all contributors) or retain checkboxed items across pages
