Sometimes chat messages just don't show up

Sometimes I just won't see what people have said in the campfire room in irssi. It seems intermittent. In the DEBUG output of flamethrower I see:

Would it be the case that during that 20 seconds anything said will just be missed by flamethrower?

I also noticed that few messages didn't show up in my weechat. I don't know if it's the same problem but it's frustrating.
