Feature request.

Badges for achievements on the Users interface. Badges such as:

  • 52 songs - Full Year
  • 104 songs - Double Year
  • 52 themed songs - Full Themed Year
  • 2 songs - Repeat Offender
  • 5 songs - Veteran
  • 10 non themed songs - You Can't Tell Me What To Do
  • 10 themed and 10 non themed songs - Half Assed

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head, add any more that you think could be good.

I think this will be a good first pass, as it's easy to achieve with the data I currently have.

Depending on how you define a year, the 'Full Year' badge might not be exactly describing people who've done a full year, as this will count (a) Multiple submissions in the same week (b) Submissions from previous years (i.e. someone does half a year in 2016, then another half in 2019)

Though I think the sentiment of the badges should be such that those edge cases still get the badge anyway :)

I'd also like to add some 'streak' based ones (not least because having a submission streak is a big part of my own motivation!), but that's a bit harder to work out from the available data, so I think that'll be a 'phase 2' addition

@djgraver I've made a few tweaks to the criteria for the initial POC for this.

  • 5 songs is now 'Regular'
  • Added 'Veteran' at 10 songs
  • Renamed 'Half Assed' to 'Half and Half' (I was worried it could be taken the wrong way :P)
  • Made the criteria for 'Half and half' a bit smarter. It now checks for at least 10 songs, split roughly equally between themed and non-themed. I figured the 10 of each could make the badge a bit confusing for anyone with e.g. 100 themed and 10 unthemed

Sounds great the ones you've mentioned, and the logic of half and half is sound. Carry on!

@djgraver sorry to leave this for so long! I've found some time to do a bit of work on this recently.

Has some much more user friendly badges than before.

Let me know what you think, and if you'd like and more changes to the site :)

Changes are great! Can we add tooltips to the badges to say what the numbers behind them are? Alternatively a legend somewhere on the site.
